Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse is located near Pompano Beach, Florida.  Hillsboro Lighthouse was first proposed in 1851 but not funded until 1902.  The 145 foot lighthouse was first lit in 1907.  This was the last onshore lighthouse built in Florida.  It was electrified in 1930 and automated in 1974. The Light is the most powerful in the state of Florida.
